My last day in Egypt was a busy one, filled with bittersweet moments as I mourned the thought of leaving this magical land. The day began at the Temple of Isis, a stunning sanctuary dedicated to the mother goddess, which, like Abu Simbel, was relocated to protect it from submersion. Next, I visited the Unfinished Obelisk, abandoned due to a crack, providing a fascinating glimpse into the craftsmanship and techniques of ancient builders. The day concluded with a serene cruise to a Nubian village, where I enjoyed an incredible dinner, surrounded by the vibrant culture and warmth of the local people—a perfect farewell to Egypt’s timeless allure.
