Cairo Wondering

My second day in Cairo began with a visit to the iconic Egyptian Museum, a treasure trove of ancient artifacts. Standing face to face with the boy king Tutankhamun’s golden death mask was a moment of pure wonder, its exquisite craftsmanship and timeless beauty leaving me in awe. From there, I journeyed to the Saladin Citadel, an imposing fortress perched above the city. This remarkable site offered an incredible glimpse into a different era of Egyptian history, with its stunning mosques, sweeping views of Cairo, and rich architectural heritage reflecting the medieval Islamic period. It was a day of contrasts, showcasing the layers of history that make Egypt so extraordinary.
